  • So, what's the best wine to pair with meatloaf? How can you serve up some Ramen noodles and still pull off great taste and charming ambiance? I'm glad you asked. Check out my blog for the answer (too many characters for this box!)

  • I suppose an introduction is in order. I am a foodie. I like food, all types and persuasions. Necessity has forced me from my glamorous organic co-op to the halls of the warehouse grocery. I love to cook, to eat out, and most of all, to eat. I have lived and eaten in four states and two countries. I had a fledgling catering business before we moved to Oregon. This looks like a great community, and an opportunity to learn from each other about something we all are passionate for, food.

  • Hmmm, with meatloaf, I would not do a merlot. Me personally, I would do something a little lighter... How about Ernest and Julio Gallo's Cafe Zinfindel. It's a merlot/min mix and slightly carbonated. Gives a little zest to the welcoming arms of meatloaf.

  • Hello! I was recently "downsized" and I wish the same were true of my body. My quest is to find cheap ways to eat in and out that won't add to my waistline, and might even downsize me. For a sinful pleasure-ful breakfast go to Cafe du Berry on MacAdam and order the french toast a la carte--it comes with fruit on the side and is the creamiest, orangy-ist, sweetest concoction ever. Not your normal french toast (thankfully), and kept me going for the rest of the day. ($7.95) And it is possible to "streamline" the calories if you order a la carte--ask to have the potatoes and bread removed. It will cost less and you will find an ample plateful of french toast or omelet or scramble. Specials are awesome--expecially the scallop and shittake mushroom omelet and the crab omelet. Pricier but worth every bite.
